Saturday, July 27 is just around the corner! That’s the date for our 2013 GroveFest featuring our all-new format for daytime activities!

We took our cue from GroveFest ’s namesake – Spiegel Grove – to plan three hours of Nature in the Grove family activities taking place from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Nature and the outdoors inspired our selection of 19 participants that will offer hands-on activities and displays – free of charge. Booths will be set up on the Hayes Home lawn. A large event tent in the center is site for a series of demonstrations. Title sponsors of GroveFest are The Fremont Company and KeyBank-Walter E. Terhune Memorial Fund.

• Kicking off the daytime events is the Pooch on the Porch Parade . If you have a dog, this is your chance to show him/her off as you parade across the Hayes Home verandah! Members of the Humane Society of Sandusky County introduce each dog and read a brief biography provided by the owner. Pooch on the Porch Parade is free! Registration forms can be picked up at the Humane Society of Sandusky County, Hayes Museum Store, or click here to print a copy. Dogs must be vaccinated and well behaved (able to tolerate other dogs and a crowd of people). Owners and dogs must sign-in by 10:30 a.m. on July 27.

Scheduled special activities for the day include:
